Hike on the Great Wall Two Day Tour
(2 days)
See Olympic Venues on the way out of Beijing.
Chinese lunch in Gubeikou.
Hike from Gubeikou on the Great Wall 5 hours (11km/7mi) to Jinshanling.
Watch the sunset on the wall then enjoy dinner in Jinshanling village.
You may sleep in Jinshanling courtyard style hotel or sleep ON the Great Wall.
Next Day
Breakfast on the Great Wall, then hike 2-3 hours on wall towards Simatai. Because the Simatai village and section are closed for reconstruction we exit the wall early, after about 4 miles/7km of hiking on the wall from Jinshanling.
Lunch and return to Beijing.
Cuandixia Ming Village
(2 days)
Morning depart Beijing and drive 2 1/2 hours to Cuandixia village.
Lunch on arrival.
Walk around the village's maze of alleyways (hutongs). Visit a temple.
You may then climb up the opposite mountain to get a high view of the village or simply relax in living history.
Accommodation is in your own private traditional courtyard residence (siheyuan). The owners will make a home cooked dinner for you to eat alfresco. You can then have an after dinner walk.
Next Day
In the morning visit Yixiantian, a place where movies have been filmed in the hills.
Then on the way back to Beijing stop in Huocun where you ride a train and take a nature walk.
Have lunch on the way back into Beijing at a local restaurant.
